Newly published images of 2009 post-election protests
GVF — Newly published images taken by photographer Ali Ogazian show the large protests that followed the announcement of the results of Iran’s June 2009 presidential election. Ahmadinejad’s re-election sparked massive protests across the country by millions of demonstrators who believed (and continue to believe) that a monumental fraud had taken place to ensure the incumbent’s “victory.” The spontaneous rallies were the largest in the country since the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
